3,5-Bis(methoxycarbonyl)benzoic acid is a ligand that can be used to create nanosized particles. It has been shown to form supramolecular micelles in acetonitrile. The crystals of 3,5-bis(methoxycarbonyl)benzoic acid are colorless and the molecules have an amorphous shape. The molecular weight is 178.1 g/mol, with a melting point of 181°C. 3,5-Bis(methoxycarbonyl)benzoic acid has two functionalities: an amide group and a hydrophobic group. This ligand can be used in uptake studies for amide groups and hydrophobic compounds.
