Produktinformation
2-Chloro-1-(6-methoxy-1H-indol-3-yl)ethan-1-one is an ochromianine, a type of alkaloid. This compound is synthesized by coupling an oxazolium with ethyl ester and an acid ethyl ester. The synthesis starts with the reaction of aniline with chloroacetaldehyde in acetone in the presence of a catalytic amount of HCl. The product is then hydrogenated to give 2-chloro-1-(6-methoxyindol)-3-ylethanone. The last step, the coupling reaction, can be done by reacting the ketone in dry pyridine with 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,-hexahydroquinoline in dry pyridine. This process results in 2-chloro-1-(6 methoxyindol)-3 -ylethanone.
