Beschreibung

Carbocyclic inosine is a natural product that has been found to have inhibitory effects on the growth of mammalian cells and soil bacteria. It has been shown to be an analog of guanine, and it binds reversibly to the adenine-binding site of DNA. Carbocyclic inosine inhibits cell nuclei by preventing the formation of RNA and protein, which are essential for cell division. Carbocyclic inosine also inhibits the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein in mammalian cells. This agent has allelopathic properties that may be due to its ability to inhibit the growth of other plants.
