Beschreibung

3,3'-Carbonylbis(7-diethylaminocoumarin) is a fluorescent compound that has been used to study the packing of liquid crystals. It is sensitive to changes in spacing and is highly efficient. The diffraction pattern from 3,3'-carbonylbis(7-diethylaminocoumarin) exhibits sharp points for the first three orders of reflection and this can be used to identify its crystal system. Compound 3,3'-carbonylbis(7-diethylaminocoumarin) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2/c1 with a profile similar to that of trimethylolpropane and epoxides.
