Beschreibung

Nesfatin-1 is a peptide hormone that is encoded by the NPY gene. It is found in the hypothalamus and pancreas, where it regulates appetite. Nesfatin-1 has been shown to reduce food intake in rats by activating the hypothalamic feeding center and suppressing the appetite center. It also stimulates glucose production in pancreatic beta cells and increases insulin release from pancreatic alpha cells.
