Beschreibung:3-Iodothyronamine Hydrochloride is a thyroid hormone that has been shown to activate the camp-dependent protein kinase pathway in vitro. 3-Iodothyronamine Hydrochloride has also been found to have agonist binding activity at amine receptors, and this may be due to its structural similarity with endogenous amines. In addition, 3-Iodothyronamine Hydrochloride has been shown to bind to the human thyroid hormone receptor and inhibit proopiomelanocortin (POMC) expression. It is believed that 3-iodothyronamine hydrochloride may function as a competitive antagonist of thyroxine or triiodothyronine binding to the nuclear thyroid hormone receptor complex, resulting in decreased levels of these hormones. This drug has also been shown to have physiological relevance by being present in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
