3,3',5,5'-Tetraiodothyronamine hydrochloride is a drug product that can be used as an HPLC standard and for the development of new drugs. 3,3',5,5'-Tetraiodothyronamine hydrochloride is a metabolite of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). It has been shown to be an impurity in API preparations. This compound has also been studied for its effects on metabolism. In vitro studies have shown that 3,3',5,5'-tetraiodothyronamine hydrochloride inhibits the conversion of T4 to T3 by the thyroid gland.
