Beschreibung

2'-O-Methyl-5-propynylcytidine is an antiviral drug that inhibits the replication of retroviruses by competitive inhibition of the viral RNA polymerase. It has been shown to be effective against HIV, HSV and CMV. This drug also has shown anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. 2'-O-Methyl-5-propynylcytidine has a novel mechanism of action and is used as a building block for oligonucleotide synthesis because it is resistant to degradation by nucleases.
