Mogroside VI is a natural sweetener that belongs to the group of steviol glycosides. It is an extract from the fruit of the plant G. lucidum and has a sweetness potency that is about 10-fold lower than sucrose. Mogroside VI also inhibits the activation of cells, as demonstrated by its inhibitory effect on cancer cells and activated T cells. This compound has a low molecular weight and high purity, which makes it ideal for surface methodology analyses such as magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The inhibition of blood glucose levels in diabetic animal models following administration of mogroside VI provides evidence for its insulin sensitivity property.
