Beschreibung

Naringin hydrate is a natural product that belongs to the group of flavonoids. It is used as a dietary supplement and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Naringin hydrate inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by peroxynitrite anion, which can lead to cell death. This compound also protects cells against oxidative stress in vitro and in vivo. The antioxidant activity of naringin may be due to its ability to sequester ROS or its inhibition of lipid peroxidation, which can lead to cell death. Naringin hydrate has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells such as Galleria mellonella and human liver cells. The cytosolic location of naringin hydrate was confirmed using magnetic resonance spectroscopy on tissue culture cells, where it was found that this molecule binds preferentially with lysine residues on proteins.
