Beschreibung:(E)-3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)acrylic acid is a natural product with antioxidant properties that can be extracted from the plant M. acuminata. It has been shown to reduce oxidative injuries in human serum and erythrocytes as well as to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cells in vitro. (E)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)acrylic acid also has anti-inflammatory activities and has been shown to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNFα. This compound is a precursor for the synthesis of other natural products with bioactive properties such as sesquiterpene lactone, chlorogenic acids, and phenolic compounds.
