Beschreibung

1-Phenyl-3-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)thiourea is a drug metabolizing enzyme that is found in the liver of animals. It inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450 and other enzymes, including reductase activity, hydroxylase, and drug metabolism. 1-Phenyl-3-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)thiourea inhibits the production of dopamine from tyrosine by preventing the conversion of dopamine to its active form due to inhibition of tyrosine hydroxylase. It also has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of gonadotrophins in rats. The mechanism for this is not known but may be related to its effects on neurotransmitters in the brain.
