This compound causes apoptosis in cancer cells by inhibiting the expression of amoena, which is necessary for cellular proliferation. Chrysosplenol D also inhibits cervical cancer growth through inhibition of human papilloma virus (HPV) E6/E7 mRNA expression in vitro.
