Beschreibung:Ro 04-5595 hydrochloride is a potent and selective glutamate antagonist that has been shown to block agonist-induced activation of the receptors. It has been shown to have a potentiating effect on estradiol, which may be due to inhibition of estrogen receptor binding. Ro 04-5595 hydrochloride binds to the dopamine D2 receptor with a Kd of 1.2 nM (1/1400). The compound has also been shown to act as an estrogen receptor modulator in x-ray crystal structures and it binds to the rat caudate putamen, where it inhibits glutamatergic neurotransmission by blocking ionotropic glutamate receptors.
