It is synthesized by the reaction of 2'-deoxy-5'-O-dimethoxytriphenylmethyl adenosine 3'-chloroethylphosphoramidite and 2',6' -difluoroaniline in an organic solvent. The product is purified by silica gel column chromatography, followed by recrystallization from a mixture of methanol and water. This novel nucleoside may prove to be a useful anticancer agent as it inhibits the growth of cancer cells without producing any apparent toxicity for normal cells.
