Ferimzone is a chemical that belongs to the class of fatty acid derivatives. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with other antimicrobials in vitro, which may be due to its ability to inhibit mitochondrial cytochrome P450. Ferimzone also inhibits the growth of fungi by interfering with their energy metabolism. Ferimzone is not active against Gram-negative bacteria and does not penetrate well through the cell wall. This makes it an effective fungicide for agricultural crops such as wheat, corn, and soybeans.
