Beschreibung:3-Chloro-4-methoxybenzene-1-thiol is a chlorinated aromatic compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of sulphones. It is prepared by the reaction of aluminium with hydrochloric acid, then followed by the addition of sulphur chloride. The product precipitates as a yellow solid and has a melting point of about 40°C. 3-Chloro-4-methoxybenzene-1-thiol does not react with water or dilute acids, but reacts with alkalis to form salts.
