This protein contains a domain with high similarity to the Tyr-3/Trp-5 monooxygenase activation domain and has been shown to be an activator of this enzyme. TAZ also interacts with ion channels and has been shown to inhibit their function. TAZ is a recombinant human protein produced in E. coli cells and purified by a proprietary process that yields a high purity product.
