Beschreibung:Nucleolin is a protein that belongs to the nucleolar family of ribonucleoprotein. It has been shown to be involved in the transcription, maturation, and fibrillar assembly of ribosomal RNA. Nucleolin also plays an important role in the synthesis of other proteins by serving as a scaffold for the assembly of pre-ribosomal particles. The c-terminal domain contains a phosphoprotein called PNPase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of inositol polyphosphates. In addition, nucleolin is glycosylated during its maturation process.
