Beschreibung:The Tripartite Motif Containing 21 protein (TRIM21) is a human recombinant that is expressed in E. coli. TRIM21 is a glycosylated polypeptide chain, which has been shown to interact with the HIV-1 Vpu protein. TRIM21 binds to the HIV-1 Vpu protein and prevents it from interacting with the CD4 molecule on T cells, thereby inhibiting viral replication. TRIM21 also has been shown to be involved in the regulation of mRNA stability and translation by binding to polyribosomes and preventing ribosomal translocation.
