• Beschreibung: Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is a glycoprotein that is expressed by oligodendrocytes and is essential for the myelinization of axons in the central nervous system. MOG has been associated with the development of multiple sclerosis and demyelinating diseases. Freeze-dried MOG is reconstituted with water before use, which may be beneficial for patients who cannot swallow pills or capsules. The reconstituted protein can be injected intravenously as an allograft. Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein can also be used long-term after desiccating to prevent its degradation and loss of biological activity. The expansion of the chromosome carrying the gene for MOG has been shown to be associated with multiple sclerosis and other neurologic diseases.
