In addition, it is thought to have a role in the prevention or treatment of symptoms associated with menopause due to its ability to inhibit the constitutive androstane receptor. 4,4'-Dimethoxy-trans-stilbene is metabolized by fatty acid conjugation and excreted into urine as metabolites. This compound is also used for synthesis of other estrogens such as ethinylestradiol and estrone sulfate.
