It has been shown to inhibit the activity of diploid cells, which are characterized by high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial dysfunction. 2-(2-Phenylhydrazono)malonic acid has been shown to inhibit the release of catalase and deoxyribose, which are two important antioxidants in the body.
