4-Ethoxy-3-methoxyphenol (4EMHP) is an antioxidant that has scavenging activity. It is an isolated compound that can be found in n-hexane, methanol, and ethyl acetate. 4EMHP has been shown to have a radical scavenging activity against the DPPH assay, which may be due to its ability to act as a hydrogen donor. This compound also has antioxidant properties and can be found in dioscorea hispida. The acetate extract of this compound was shown to have anti-inflammatory activities.
