Beschreibung

Seneciphyllinine is a chinese medicine preparation that is extracted from the plant Huperzia serrata. It has been shown to have toxic effects in mice and rats, although the LD50 value for humans is unknown. Seneciphyllinine has been shown to be effective against bacterial translocation and reduce blood pressure in animals. In addition, it can inhibit the uptake of retronecine esters by inhibiting the enzyme catechol-O-methyltransferase, which regulates their metabolism.
