Beschreibung

Ametoctradin is a fungicidal, anhydrous sodium salt. It acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an essential component in the fungal cell membrane. Ametoctradin has been shown to be effective against resistant mutants and has been used as a fungicide for agricultural and horticultural crops. This drug also prevents the growth of some bacteria such as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Botrytis cinerea. Ametoctradin may have a negative effect on plants because it inhibits mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase activity, which may lead to reduced photosynthesis rates.
