Beschreibung:3-Bromo-1H-indazole-7-carboxylic acid (3BI) is a potent and selective inhibitor of the NADPH oxidase. 3BI binds to the active site of the enzyme, preventing it from accepting electrons. It has been shown that 3BI inhibits both constitutive and inducible forms of NADPH oxidase with similar potency. The compound also shows selectivity for NADPH oxidase over other enzymes such as xanthine oxidoreductase and cytochrome P450 reductase. The inhibition of NADPH oxidase by 3BI prevents the production of reactive oxygen species, which are important in many biological processes such as signaling pathways, cell growth, and apoptosis.
