• Beschreibung: DMCM hydrochloride is a nitro drug that has been used to treat cardiac hypertrophy and psychosis. This drug has also been shown to inhibit the polymerase chain reaction for the replication of the virus. DMCM hydrochloride binds to the viral DNA polymerase and prevents it from functioning, inhibiting viral replication. It is active against trichomonas vaginalis and human immunodeficiency virus, but not other viruses. The therapeutic effect of DMCM hydrochloride is related to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis in bacteria cells. The minimal inhibitory concentration of this drug was found to be 1-2 µg/mL when tested against lactobacillus acidophilus.
