1-(3-Phenoxypropyl)piperazine (1-PPP) is a potent 5-HT2A receptor antagonist. It has been shown to be an effective treatment for Parkinson's disease, and also as a treatment for dystonia, tardive dyskinesia, and Tourette syndrome. 1-PPP binds to the 5-HT2A receptor with high affinity, blocking serotonin from binding to the receptor. This prevents the downstream effects of serotonin on dopamine release in the brain.
