Cyproheptadine has been shown to inhibit glucose production by pancreatic beta cells and reduce cyclin D2 levels in lymphocytes. Cyproheptadine has been shown to have brain functions that are important for cognition, such as memory acquisition and retrieval. This drug binds with high affinity to the 5-HT1A receptor.
