• Beschreibung: KGA-2727 is a novel, orally administered, non-peptidic, small molecule antidiabetic agent that increases glucose uptake in skeletal muscle cells by inhibiting the sodium-dependent glucose transporter type 2 (SGLT2) and the accompanying sodium-glucose cotransporter. KGA-2727 has been shown to lower blood pressure and increase insulin sensitivity in diabetic mice. Chronic treatment with KGA-2727 has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity in wild-type mice without any adverse effects. This drug also lowers blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
