Beschreibung:Merafloxacin is a new, potent antibacterial agent that has antiviral activity. Merafloxacin inhibits the synthesis of viral proteins by binding to the ribosomes and preventing the formation of an active ribosomal frameshift. Merafloxacin also prevents virus-induced cell death in coronavirus-infected cells by blocking the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria. Merafloxacin is insoluble in water and is reconstituted with propylene glycol before being used as an intravenous infusion. It does not require dilution prior to administration and can be administered through a peripheral venous line or central venous catheter.
