(1-Chlorocyclopropyl)benzene reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce (1-chlorocyclopropyl)benzoic acid. This compound reacts with sodium methoxide to produce (1-chlorocyclopropyl)phenol. (1-Chlorocyclopropyl)benzene is not soluble in water or acetone but is soluble in ethanol and ether.
