Beschreibung:
1-(3-(Cyclopentyloxy)-4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone (CPE) is a bronchodilator. It increases the levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in the airways and helps to relax the muscles in the airway walls, which relieves symptoms of asthma. CPE acts as a leukotriene D4 receptor antagonist by competing with leukotriene D4 for binding to its receptors. This action prevents activation of phosphodiesterase enzymes, which are responsible for breaking down cAMP. CPE also inhibits phosphodiesterase activity in vitro, which leads to increased levels of cAMP and relaxation of smooth muscle cells in the bronchi.
