Beschreibung

H-Arg(Me)-OH acetate is a molecule that is used to treat bowel disease. It has been shown to activate nitric oxide synthase, leading to the formation of nitric oxide and subsequent vasodilation. This drug also has antioxidant properties and is able to increase the bioavailability of oxygen. H-Arg(Me)-OH acetate has been shown to be effective against Leishmania major, both in vitro and in vivo, by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration. The molecule also protects cells from oxidative damage during periods of ischemia reperfusion injury, which can lead to cardiac dysfunction.
