Undecanoyl chloride is a fatty acid that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in the production of detergents and has been shown to have antimicrobial activity. Undecanoyl chloride can be used as an optical sensor for detecting blood clots. It is also a metabolic disorder treatment, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
