Produktinformation
- Tetra-n-hexylammonium hydroxide
- N,N,N-trihexylhexan-1-aminium hydroxide
Tetrahexylammonium hydroxide solution is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) reagent that is used in the analysis of DNA and RNA. It is an electrolyte with a pH of 13.5-14.0, making it ideal for use in PCR reactions. Tetrahexylammonium hydroxide solution has high resistance to water vapor and ionic substances, making it suitable for use in areas with high humidity or salt content. Tetrahexylammonium hydroxide solution has been shown to cause neuronal death in rats, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the transfer of ions across biological membranes, leading to an accumulation of sodium and calcium ions outside of cells. This chemical also has antimicrobial properties against bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites when applied externally or taken orally as a supplement.
