It has been shown to have potential for genotoxicity in animals, with the most potent effect observed in liver cells. This chemical is not active against typhimurium bacteria, but does show some degree of toxicity towards Escherichia coli. The chemical structure of this compound consists of a quinoline group attached to a 5,6-diamine group.
