Ethyl 2-amino-5-nitrothiophene-3-carboxylate is a yellow, analogue, derivatised, colorant synthesized from the reaction of ethyl 2-aminothiophene-3-carboxylate with nitrosyl chloride. This compound has been used for the synthesis of aminothiophenes and aminothiophenes as well as for the activation of amines.
