Beschreibung

2-Methylprop-2-enoic acid (MPEA) is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist that has been shown to inhibit the release of monoamine neurotransmitters and to have an inhibitory effect on cell proliferation. MPEA also inhibits the activity of pyridine compounds, which are involved in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. In vivo studies have demonstrated that MPEA can potentiate alcohol consumption in rodents. MPEA has been shown to inhibit liver cancer growth in vivo and has potential as a neuroprotective agent due to its ability to protect neurons from oxidative stress.
