Beschreibung:FRETS-25Ser is a peptide with a molecular weight of 25.1 Da. It is an activator of the Kv4.3 potassium channel, which has been shown to be involved in memory and learning processes. FRETS-25Ser binds to the extracellular loop 1 of the Kv4.3 channel and modulates its activity by increasing the open probability of the channel and inhibiting fast inactivation. The affinity for this peptide is high, as it binds tightly to its target protein (Kv4.3). FRETS-25Ser also has a low level of inhibition against other channels with similar sequences, as it can only bind to one site on the protein receptor.
