(R)-Xyl-SDP has been shown to be effective against Enteritidis, S. enteritidis, and Typhimurium in vitro and may be useful for the prevention of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. (R)-Xyl-SDP is also a chiral molecule that can be used in vaccines to elicit a specific immune response from a patient due to its ability to bind with high affinity to antibodies.
