MOCA-Arg-Pro-Lys-Pro-Val-Glu-Nva-Trp-Arg-Lys(Dnp)-NH2 is a synthetic peptide that interacts with the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and is a potent agonist. MOCA was found to be a potent activator of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, as well as an inhibitor of ligand binding. The affinity for binding to the receptor was found to be high, with an inhibition constant (Ki) of 0.06 μM. It has been shown to inhibit ion channels and ligand binding in cell biology experiments. MOCA can also be used as a research tool for studying protein interactions and receptors.
