Beschreibung

Z-Gln-Gly is a synthetic amino acid that has the same chemical properties as the natural amino acids. It is a white crystalline powder that can be dissolved in water. Z-Gln-Gly is an amine and has two lysine residues. The deuterium isotope can be used to measure the hydrogen exchange rates of this compound. When introduced into living cells, Z-Gln-Gly inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the template DNA strand and preventing transfer reactions. This irreversible inhibition of protein synthesis leads to cell death.
