Produktinformation
3,5-Dimethylbenzene-1-sulfonic acid is a sulfonic acid that is used as an additive in pesticides. It can be synthesized by reacting 3,5-dimethylaniline with sulfur trioxide and sodium hydroxide. This process produces the desired product with a yield of about 98%. 3,5-Dimethylbenzene-1-sulfonic acid is also used to enhance luminescence in chemical sensors. The surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technique was used to investigate the interactions between 3,5-dimethylbenzene-1-sulfonic acid and azobenzene molecules. The results showed that there was a strong affinity between these two molecules. Constant factors were calculated for fluorescence measurements of 3,5-dimethylbenzene-1-sulfonic acid at different concentrations. The results showed that the intensity increased linearly with concentration for this molecule.
