• Beschreibung: (2R/S)-6-PNG is a voltage-gated sodium channel blocker that has been shown to be neuroprotective in animal models of neuropathic pain. It binds to the neuron's membrane with high affinity and specificity, blocking the influx of sodium ions and thereby reducing neuronal excitability. The compound is able to block the voltage-gated sodium channels at low concentrations (1 μM) without affecting other ion channels. (2R/S)-6-PNG has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of neuropathic pain in an animal model of sciatic nerve injury. This compound also blocks voltage-gated sodium channels on sensory neurons, which may be responsible for its analgesic effects. In addition, this compound has been shown to have ligation properties that do not penetrate the cell membrane and affect only the intracellular domain of NaV1.8 channels.
