• Beschreibung: Loe 908 hydrochloride is a cytosolic calcium ionophore with a biphasic response. It activates epidermal growth factor and inhibits myosin phosphatase, inhibiting the activation of the Ras pathway. Loe 908 hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit carotid artery constriction in rats. This drug acts by binding to cation channels in blood vessel walls, which prevents the influx of calcium ions into the cells of the vessel wall. Loe 908 hydrochloride also binds to 5-HT2 receptors and activates them. The result is an increase in intracellular calcium levels and inhibition of adenylyl cyclase, which leads to a decrease in cyclic AMP levels. This leads to decreased contractility in smooth muscle cells and relaxation of arterial smooth muscle cells.
