Beschreibung:Wilforol C is a natural product that has been isolated from the bark of Tripterygium wilfordii, a medicinal plant native to China. Wilforol C is a macrocycle that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects in vitro. It also inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in synovial fibroblasts. This compound also inhibits the synthesis of collagen and other proteins by rat primary chondrocytes, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of protein kinase C. Wilforol C has also been shown to be cytotoxic towards cancer cells by causing DNA fragmentation.
