2-Chloro-4-[trans-3-amino-2,2,4,4-tetramethylcyclobutoxy]benzonitrile is a third-generation androgen receptor inhibitor. It binds to the androgen receptor in prostate cancer cells and prevents it from binding to testosterone or other androgens. This prevents the activation of the gene that produces prostate specific antigen (PSA). 2-Chloro-4-[trans-3-amino-2,2,4,4-tetramethylcyclobutoxy]benzonitrile has been shown to be an effective treatment for prostate cancer.
