Beschreibung

Bakkenolide A is a natural compound that has been extracted from an acetate extract of the fungus Aspergillus bakkeni. Bakkenolide A has shown to have cytotoxic effects on k562 cells, which are human leukemia cells. Bakkenolide A inhibits neuronal death by blocking the release of glutamate and aspartate in the brain. It also inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines in cultured microglia. The biological activity of this compound has been investigated using a surface methodology and LC-MS/MS method. Bakkenolide A is chiral, so it is important to use a chiral analytical method when studying this compound.
